After a year-long interdisciplinary process, UJ Arts & Culture Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture (FADA) presents Reza de Wet’s iconic African Gothic (translation of Diepe Grond).

Presented as a gallery installation or tableaux vivant, A CITY is an intimate, personal study of four artists/friends who tell the story of a famous friend who died under mysterious circumstances, and how he transformed them.
The UJ STAGED showcase productions include Wynne Bredenkamp’s AT THE EDGE OF THE LIGHT (South Africa), Joakim Daun’s THE INCIDENT (Sweden/Zimbabwe/South Africa), Greg MacArthur’s A CITY (Canada/South Africa), and TRACKS by Maude Sandham and Nicola Pilkington.
JUNGFRAU is the latest directorial work from 2016 Standard Bank Young Artist for Theatre Jade Bowers. Based Mary Watson‘s novel, the adaption is by Ameera Patel, who also takes a lead role. With Jacques da Silva, Tracey-Lee Oliver and Clara Classen.
Phillip Rademeyer directs MONSIEUR IBRAHIM EN DIE BLOMME VAN DIE KORAN, performed by Dawid Minnaar.
Swiss author and director Boris Nikitin rewrites HAMLET into a mix of experimental documentary play and music theatre. With Julia*n Meding.
